Miami Face Eater's Girlfriend Breaks Her Silence on Cannibal Attack
The girlfriend of the “Miami Zombie” spoke on what happened the day her boyfriend committed the heinous crime of eating another mans face off and what could have possibly triggered his unusual behavior.
Rudy Eugene’s girlfriend said he woke her up around 5:30 a.m. to tell her he was going to meet with a “homeboy” but didn’t name the friend. He kissed her goodbye and an hour later called her to let her know that his car broke down and that he would be coming home late. That was the last time she had heard from Eugene before the incident. She then said she saw the news story later that evening detailing the horrible event.
“I thought to myself, ‘Oh my God, that’s crazy,” she said. “I didn’t know that it was Rudy.”
She didn’t get a call until 11 a.m. Monday morning from a member of Eugene’s family telling her the bad news. She believes Eugene was drugged unknowingly, or the victim of supernatural doings and that maybe someone put a curse on him. She claims she never believed in Voodoo until now. She described Eugene as “sweet and well-mannere
Eugene's mother said she and her son had a warm relationship and that he was a “nice kid, not a delinquent.” However, a friend of Eugenes said had been troubled in recent years. Joe Aurelus told the Miami Herald,
“He was going through a lot with his family and jumping from job to job. Rudy was battling the devil.”
