''No Part of the Deposit Has Been Returned'' 4:30PM ET July 16th, 2012 Contributor : Stephen Willis A Rocky Williform Company Rapper Rick Ross is being sued for nearly $2 million in damages by a British promotional company over a canceled 2011 Nigerian concert. Ross's sister Tawanda Roberts and his manager Michael Lighty are also named in the suit, which was filed on July 3 in the Supreme Court of New York, by Zons P.R.
Ross was scheduled to headline the 2011 Star Mega Jam concert on December 17th, 2011. According to the suit, Zons negotiated with his sister/manager, Tawanda Roberts and deposited $87,000 in the rapper's bank account under the agreement that he would handle promotional drops as well as performing at the showcase.
The rapper subsequently did not do any drops and canceled his performance after citing 'the violent events in Nigeria' as a cause for concern.
Ross did not return the deposit, according to the lawsuit.
“In truth and in fact the defendant had no intention of returning said deposit,” the lawsuit reads. “To date no part of the deposit has been returned.”
