Rapper Seeking 25,000 Signatures 6:00AM ET May 29th, 2012 Contributor : Chris G. A Rocky Williform Company Shyne is fighting for his return to the U.S. The rapper was deported from the United States in October of 2009, following his release from Woodbourne Correctional Facility after serving more than eight years for two counts of assault. The conviction stemmed from his involvement in the infamous New Year's Eve 1999 club shooting that also involved Sean "Diddy" Combs and Combs' then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.
Shyne has lived in Belize and Israel over the past two years, but he has created a petition, in which he is seeking a grant for a visa to return to the U.S. Shyne is asking for 25,000 signatures.
Shyne, who converted to Judaism in prison, is hoping to be granted the visa for his good behavior and community service.
