While she later tweeted that she was only referencing the song title, superproducer The-Dream--who was also at the show, came to the Oscar-winner's defense.
"FYI, sorry for the confusion," The-Dream tweeted. "I typed 'N----- in Paris for real' from Gwen's phone, my bad."
"Please excuse it! We were lit," he added.
